Or something like that. What I mean to say is, Sproing Interactive’s first foray into Survival/Horror (and, let’s be honest here, “real” games), Cursed Mountain, is set to launch later this month on the Wii, on Aug. 25 (or so claims Gamestop.com). While I have my concerns about Sproing’s pedigree, I can’t deny that the concept is solid:

Set in the late 1980s, players will guide Eric Simmons, professional mountaineer, as he climbs the Himalayas to find his lost brother. As Eric ascends the mountain, players will not only battle altitude sickness and oxygen deprevation, but their own minds as they must differentiate hallucinations from Bardo escapees. Based around Tibetian-Buddism, expect a survival/horror experience unlike ever before.

See? Great concept. And if you haven’t watched that video yet, make it a point too. The game really does look great, especially for the Wii. Although, I worry may suffer from waggle, but hopefully it will be done tastefully. Here is the except from Gamestop:

Innovative Wii Controls: Designed to mimic the physical aspects of sacred prayer rituals, mantras, and gestures of Buddhism, combat is comprised of gestures that release the spirits from the curse. In addition, Cursed Mountain takes full advantage of the Wii functionality, supporting the Wiimote speaker, rumble pack and motion-sensitivity in a variety of triggered action events that mimic natural movements, such as climbing, running and pushing away enemies.

That’s some pretty hefty waggle implementation. So what do you think? Has Sproing finally reached enlightenment, or could they benefit from heavier meditation?

Wii owners, you’re better off just waggling on down the page, ignoring this post altogether. Go on. Get lost… Fine, if you must have something, go watch this Wii exclusive HD trailer for Muramasa and tell yourself everything is OK.

Now they’re gone, let’s get on with it, shall we?

BATMAN
DEMO

…

…

What, you’re still here? Too cool for Batman, are we?

Well, you’re probably the only one. I’m predicting that there will probably be a record-breaking amount of downloads for this demo. In fact, I dare you not to download it. Go on — don’t go here, and download the free demo for PC. Or, for you console-jockeys, go to your respective console, and deny yourself Batman.

Admit it, you can’t, because you are weak…

When you’re done not playing it, let us know what you think… of the weather, I guess?

P.S. I doubt this applies to the console version, but I spotted this little note on the PC download page, “This demo supports Nvidia 3D glasses, but does not require them. “. That’s right, Batman 3D.
